Get the legal stuff out of the way and then let's have a celebration!
Your wedding should be the happiest day of your life. But often it becomes a source of stress.
I recently got married and decided to ignore what everyone thought I should do to focus on what we wanted to do.
By freeing myself from traditional expectations, the overriding emotion I felt about my wedding was pure excitement.
You should feel the same about yours!
As your celebrant, every word I choose will be from the heart to create a magical and memorable ceremony. I will take the time to get to know you both to tell your beautiful story how it deserves to be told. Let’s get the legal stuff out of the way and kick it off your marriage in style by doing things your way!
Anniversaries and milestones bring times of reflection – especially if your wedding wasn’t exactly what you wanted the first time round.
Reignite the magic by reaffirming your commitment to one another!
You can use your original vows, update them, or even create brand-new ones. We will work closely together to create a heartfelt ceremony that reflects the journey you’ve taken together.
Choose a time and place that means something to you – I’m always up for an adventure!
The birth of a baby is always a reason to celebrate. If you don’t want a traditional baptism, a baby naming service could be your perfect fit.
Religious or not, your ceremony will reflect the joy of the occasion. As an independent celebrant, I can incorporate religious elements into the day, or we can include some alternative rituals that are personal to you.
This ceremony can be held at any time in a location of your choice.
People of any age and gender can have a naming ceremony.
Perhaps the name you were born with is not the name you identify with, or you have undergone gender reassignment. A renaming ceremony allows you give thanks for the life you had before and honour your transition. It is a celebration of your new name and can be performed at a meaningful location - day or night.
A lot of time, effort and love goes into choosing a name, and this will be reflected in your ceremony. I place a lot of value on a name and will research its origins to include in the service, if appropriate. We can include any specific religious elements or rituals that speak to your values, such as an anointing ritual.
You are an individual - ceremonies should never be ‘one size fits all’.
We can create a ceremony that reflects what you want and need. This includes the trinity of birth, life, death and all the rites of passage in-between, a blessing way (a unique and reverent alternative to a baby shower) and living funerals to celebrate your life following a terminal diagnosis.
Bird release can be added to any kind of ceremony as a beautiful symbolic gesture. I work with Eric Thomson, who has been rearing, showing, and racing pigeons since he was a child. He was taught by his dad (also named Eric). All of Eric’s birds are lovingly cared for.
Eric releases white pigeons rather than doves, as doves are not trained to fly home, and so will die or become prey when released.
Working with registrars comes with restrictions. Registrars can only perform ceremonies in approved venues – some may only have one function suite that just doesn’t fit what you’re looking for.
As an Independent Celebrant, I have no affiliation to any religion or belief system. This means your ceremony is always performed with your best interests in mind, to reflect your personalities, in a location of your choosing.
I never dictate what a couple should or shouldn’t do – it isn’t my place, and your ceremony needs to be about you. All I will ever provide is support, guidance, and suggestions to make your day extra special.
Want to free yourself from the shackles of tradition? I can perform Pagan ceremonies and I am also a Shamanic and Reiki practitioner. If you have any rituals that are meaningful to your relationship, let’s build them into your celebration to create a day you’ll never forget.
Do you want your ceremony on a beach? Why not!
In your own garden? I did!
Or simply in a place that is important to you? Let’s do it!
Dare to be different – the more out there the better.
Please Note: Due to current legislation, I cannot legally marry you. As you do with a birth or death, you will need to go to the Registry Office to register your marriage, either before or after your ceremony.
